The Japanese Culinary Academy Certification Association protects personal information appropriately according to the following Personal Information Policy and operates based on laws and regulations. The Association is also engaged in personal information protection activities.

  1. 1.What is personal information?

    The Japanese Culinary Academy Certification Association (hereinafter "the Association") defines personal information as, "information about an individual that can be used to identify that individual, including their name, date of birth, other descriptions, as well as numbers and other codes assigned to that individual, images, or audio (including information that cannot be used to identify an individual on its own, but can be matched with other information in order to identify the individual)."

  2. 2.Acquisition, utilization, and provision of personal information

    When acquiring personal information to fulfill various business obligations, the Association will notify the individual who is the source of the information (hereinafter referred to as "the individual") of the purpose for which this information is utilized, and after obtaining their consent, it will utilize the personal information within the scope of the announced purpose.

    In the course of operation, the Association will take appropriate security management measures to prevent unauthorized access, loss, falsification, or destruction of personal information.

  3. 3.Providing personal information to third parties

    The Association does not provide personal information to third parties without the prior consent of the individual. However, the Association may provide personal information to third parties in the following situations.

    ・When it is required by laws or regulations.
    ・When it is necessary in order to protect human life, limb, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual.
    ・When the Association needs to cooperate with national government agencies, local government organizations, or parties entrusted by those entities to perform work stipulated by laws and regulations, and obtaining the consent of the individual brings the risk of hindering execution of that work.

  4. 4.Outsourcing work involving personal information

    When the Association outsources work related to personal information to a third party organization, the Association will select a depository and provide it to a company that handles personal information appropriately. The Association will continue to provide guidance and conduct periodic audits of its outsourcing contractors to ensure that personal information is properly managed, just as it is inside the Association.

  5. 5.Requests to disclose, correct, or suspend use of personal information

    The individual may request disclosure of their personal data held by the Association. Please note that the Association cannot respond to requests for disclosure if it cannot confirm the identity of the individual contacting the Association.

    If an error is found in personal data held by the Association as a result of disclosing information based on a request from an individual, the Association will promptly correct the personal data it holds. The number of days required for corrections will be announced individually on each occasion.

    If the Association does not make a correction despite a request for correction from the individual, then the individual can request that the Association suspend use of the information held.

  6. 6.Management system for personal information and improvements to the system

    While complying with Japanese laws and regulations related to the protection of personal information, the Association will clearly state who is responsible for managing personal information and continuously review the content of legal compliance, including this policy, and strive to improve upon it.
