Privacy Policy
The Japanese Culinary Academy Certification Association (hereinafter the “Association”) hereby establishes the following Privacy Policy (hereinafter the “Policy”) regarding the protection of personal information of examinees of the Japanese Culinary Academy Certification (hereinafter “Member Registrants”) and those among them who have passed the Japanese Culinary Academy Certification and have completed the passing grade registration (hereinafter “Passing Registrants”), and shall handle personal information appropriately in accordance with this Policy.
The terms used in this Policy shall have the same meanings as those defined in laws related to the protection of personal information (hereinafter the “Act on the Protection of Personal Information”).
In addition, this website is operated on servers located in Japan, and this Policy has been created and shall be interpreted and enforced in accordance with Japanese law (the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, the Civil Code, and other laws and regulations).
1.Items of personal information to be collected
The Association may collect the following personal information related to Member Registrants and Passing Registrants (hereinafter “Registrants”).

Information related to identity verification
Name, address, postal code, gender, date of birth, phone number, email address, account ID and password, social media account information, information related to public documents such as driver's licenses and residence certificates, etc.

Information related to transactions
Information related to transaction content and purchase history, etc.

Information related to payments
Information related to the payment of fees and payment methods, etc.

Information collected when using services
Online identifiers such as cookie IDs, device information, location information, browsing history, and other information regarding the use of services (including access logs, IP addresses, browser information, browser language settings, etc.)
- Information related to the Japanese Culinary Academy Certification test history of Registrants
- Other information, information related to inquiries and communications from Registrants to the Association, etc.
2.Purpose of use
The Association may collect and use the personal information of Registrants within the scope of the following purposes (hereinafter the “Purpose of Use”).

To register Registrants for services provided by the Association, to verify the identity of Registrants when they use the services, and to manage Registrants
- To deliver and provide purchased items, etc., and to provide after-sales services
- To request payment for purchased items, etc., and services
- To prevent and respond to fraudulent acts, etc.
- To maintain and manage the services
- To investigate and analyze marketing data, and to consider and implement marketing measures
- To provide, promote, advertise, or otherwise market products, etc., and services of the Association or third parties in accordance with the interests and preferences of Registrants, based on the analysis of their attributes and behavioral history, through the media of the Association or third parties
- To implement campaigns, giveaways, and surveys
- To improve products, etc., and services, and to plan, research, and develop new products, etc. and services
- To respond to inquiries and to contact Registrants
- To provide information to third parties in accordance with the methods outlined in this Policy
3.Provision to third parties

Except in the following cases, the Association shall not provide personal information handled by the Association to third parties without the prior consent of Registrants.
- When required based on laws and regulations
- When necessary to protect human life, physical safety, or property, and obtaining the consent of Registrants is difficult
- When particularly necessary for the improvement of public health or the sound development of children, and obtaining the consent of Registrants is difficult
- When necessary for cooperating with national government agencies, regional public organizations, or a party entrusted by such an entity in the performance of duties prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the consent of Registrants may hinder the performance of such duties
- When permitted by other laws and regulations

Notwithstanding the above (1), the Association may provide personal information it handles to third parties in the following cases.
- When providing anonymized information that cannot be used to identify specific individuals to advertising distribution companies affiliated with the Association for the purpose of delivering advertisements tailored to the interests and preferences of Registrants, measuring the results of such advertisements, and providing services
- In addition to the above ①, when providing anonymized information that cannot be used to identify specific individuals to advertising companies affiliated with the Association
- When providing the names and email addresses of Registrants to payment service providers for the purpose of processing payments on behalf of Registrants
4.Measures for managing security
The Association shall take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent the leakage, loss, or damage of the personal information it handles, and to otherwise manage the security of personal information. For details regarding measures for managing security taken by the Association, please inquire via the contact information listed in the “8. Contact for inquiries” section.
5.Requests for disclosure, etc.
The Association shall respond to requests for disclosure, etc. (requests for notification of purpose of use, disclosure of personal information or records of provision to third parties, correction/addition/deletion, suspension of use/suspension of provision to third parties) as specified below.
The following information on making requests are for residents of Japan who wish to view the documents or have the documents issued or sent to them within Japan. If the documents are being sent outside of Japan or if a non-resident of Japan is requesting to view or receive the documents from within Japan, please contact the Association via email.

Notification of purpose of use or disclosure of personal information or records of provision to third parties
Registrants may request notification of purpose of use or disclosure of personal information from the Association or records of provision to third parties within the scope permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information in accordance with the procedures specified in (4) below. However, the Association may refuse to disclose information in any of the following cases.
- When disclosure may harm the life, physical safety, property, or other rights or interests of the Registrant or a third party
- When disclosure may significantly impair the proper conduct of the Association's business
- When disclosure may violate laws or regulations

When it cannot be confirmed that the request for disclosure was made by the Registrant
Please note that if a request is made for notification of purpose of use or disclosure of personal information or records of provision to third parties, a disclosure fee will be charged as specified in (4) below.

Correction/addition/deletion of personal information
Registrants may request the correction, addition, or deletion of their personal information. In such cases, the Association shall promptly investigate within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use and, based on the results, correct, add, or delete the personal information within the scope recognized by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.

Suspension of use or suspension of provision to third parties
Registrants may request the suspension of use of their personal information or the suspension of provision of their personal information to third parties. In such cases, the Association shall respond appropriately in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.

Procedures
Registrants who wish to request disclosure, etc., must fill in the designated items on the Association's designated request form (A below), enclose documents for identity verification (B below), and mail them to the Association's designated address (C below). In addition, a handling fee of 1,100 yen (tax included) will be charged for each request for notification of purpose of use and disclosure of personal information or records of provision to third parties. Payments must be made using the payment method listed on the request form. Please note that the designated fee will still be charged in the event of non-disclosure or non-notification of purpose of use.
